During North Texas Giving Week, I want to take a moment to speak from a mother’s heart about a program that has truly made a difference in my son’s life—Mentor Brother 2 Brother. 

For the past three years, my son has been blessed to be a part of this program, and I can honestly say that the impact has been far greater than I ever imagined. These men don’t just show up—they pour into our children. They give their time, their wisdom, their patience, their encouragement, and most importantly, their hearts.

Through the trips, the experiences, the conversations, and the life lessons, my son has been given opportunities to learn, grow, explore, and see a bigger vision for his future. They have taught him lessons that go far beyond anything that can be learned in a classroom. They have challenged him to become a better young man, encouraged him when he needed it, and provided positive examples of what leadership, character, responsibility, and brotherhood look like.

As a parent, there is no greater gift than knowing your child has people in his corner who genuinely care about who he becomes. People who will take the time to listen. People who will speak life into him. People who will hold him accountable while reminding him that he is capable of greatness.

I have watched my son grow over these three years, and I know Mentor Brother 2 Brother has been a meaningful part of that journey. They are not simply mentoring young men—they are helping shape futures, build confidence, create leaders, and change lives.

The time they give cannot be replaced. The memories they create cannot be measured. And the impact they are making will reach far beyond these three years.

I am forever grateful to every mentor who has invested in my son. Thank you for seeing something in him, believing in him, challenging him, encouraging him, and showing him that he has a village standing behind him.
