Meet General Lilith Sorrengail and her eight little Riders: Violet, Xaden, Mira, Garrick, Liam, Ridoc, Bodhi, and Sawyer. 🐺⚔️

This little husky family has already survived more than most dogs ever should.

Lilith and her puppies were brought to a shelter after animal control found them in heartbreaking conditions. Lilith’s owner had reportedly been homeless and was arrested with all eight puppies packed into her car. We were told Lilith had been intentionally bred for profit, but once the puppies arrived, it was evident that neither mom nor babies ever received the care they  needed.

For two weeks, the shelter did everything they could while waiting to see if anyone would come for them. Nobody did.

At the very last moment, our volunteers jumped into action and transported this little family from New Braunfels to Dallas to finally begin their New Life.

But when Lilith arrived safely in rescue, we knew something was wrong.

She was weak. Lethargic. She wouldn’t eat. She wanted nothing to do with her puppies because her body was simply shutting down trying to survive. Late that night, she became very ill and had to be rushed to the ER.

Thankfully, tests for devastating illnesses like parvo came back negative, but Lilith was depleted. She had a dangerously high white blood cell count, Low red blood cell count, anemia, an upper respiratory infection, and gastroenteritis. After carrying, delivering, and trying to nurse EIGHT puppies without proper nutrition or veterinary care, her body had nothing left to give.

Her emergency stay alone totaled $2,700.70!

Since then, we’ve already spent hundreds more on supplies, quality food, probiotics, medications, puppy care items, and veterinary support — and we’re only at the beginning of their journey.

Because Lilith can no longer safely nurse while on antibiotics, she must be separated from her babies (which she doesn’t mind, she did her part for 6 weeks). But we are now fully supporting this family of NINE huskies and boy can they EAT!

That means:
🐾 Puppy food, party of 9! All the calories.
🐾 Toys and enrichment
🐾 Vaccines and wellness visits
🐾 Deworming and preventatives
🐾 Cleaning supplies and bedding
🐾 Additional Nutritional support for Lilith
🐾 Future spay surgery for Lilith
🐾 Emergency & follow-up veterinary care
🐾 Potential medical boarding if no one steps up for the 2 week Spay Recovery

Many people assume rescues “make money” when puppies are adopted. The reality is exactly the opposite. Responsible rescue is expensive — especially when it involves a medically fragile mom and eight growing puppies. Adoption fees rarely cover even a fraction of the true cost of saving a family like this, especially when emergency veterinary care is involved.

But we said yes anyway.

Because Lilith deserved better.
Because these puppies deserve to grow up safe, healthy, and loved.
Because no momma dog should have to destroy her own body just trying to keep her babies alive.

And despite everything she’s been through, Lilith is already starting to heal. She’s eating. Resting. Recovering. Her puppies are thriving on solid food, gaining confidence, and causing the exact amount of adorable husky chaos you’d expect from a squadron of tiny Riders. 💙

Now we need our village to rally behind them.

If you’d like to help General Lilith Sorrengail and her Eight little Riders continue their journey toward health, safety, and forever homes, please consider donating, sharing, or cheering them on.

Every dollar helps carry this family one step closer to the happy ending they deserve. 🐺✨
