Welcome to "The Widow's Journey: from Grief to Growth," a non-profit organization serving the DFW area, designed to provide education, peer support, and professional resources as you journey to your new normal. Regardless of how you came to be here, your life has now changed dramatically. Our hope is that The Widow's Journey will provide you with tools and support to successfully transition to your new equilibrium.
We are an uplifting, heart-centered and positive group of wisters (widowed sisters) who "Love it Forward" by mentoring and encouraging each other. We may have lost the love of our lives, but we haven't lost our love for life.
All widows are invited to join us for monthly educational meetings during the school year and social activities throughout the year. There are several committees in existence (and others that are "under construction") to promote our mission, with the end result of helping you move through the chrysalis of your grief and emerge into the woman of your choosing. All committees are staffed by other widowed volunteers because we recognize the healing that comes from giving back to the community and specifically to others who have walked The Widow's Journey.
We empower widows by building confidence, community, and connections. We do this with education, social connections, financial support, and community outreach.
