Texas OES Rescue, Inc. Texas Old English Sheepdog Rescue Incorporated, a registered 501(c) 3 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code Corporation, is a group of dedicated volunteers who give their time and love to the rescued Sheepdogs who come into the program. We receive Old English Sheepdogs from both owner surrenders and shelters. Additionally, we coordinate with other rescue organizations throughout the United States, it's territories, Canada, and Mexico. We offer education and support to all who care for and love this breed. Many of our rescue Sheepdogs are in good health, but for whatever reason, need to find new homes.

“The loyalty of a rescued animal is unlike any other—they never forget who gave them a home.”

Our Needs

Assistance for Training, Boarding & Medical Needs

When an Old English Sheepdog comes into rescue, the journey to a forever home can sometimes require more than just love. Some of our OES rescues need additional socialization, training, or behavioral support after being surrendered by their families or coming to us as strays. Others arrive needing immediate veterinary care, grooming, or ongoing medical attention.

At the same time, a shortage of available foster homes has increased our need for temporary boarding, while the rising cost of veterinary care has placed additional financial pressure on our rescue.

Your donation can make a tremendous difference. Your support helps TXOESR provide the training, boarding, medical care, and other services these dogs need to heal, thrive, and ultimately find loving forever homes.

Every donation—large or small—helps us give an OES a second chance.

How Your Donations Can Help

Tux

Tux has been in a board-and-train program for the past three months. He initially received three weeks of training to address a minor behavior issue and help with socialization. He successfully completed his training, but TXOESR has not yet been able to find a foster home able to continue reinforcing the training and structure he has learned.

For now, Tux remains with his trainer, where he continues to receive plenty of love, care, exercise, and attention. The training staff have truly fallen in love with this wonderful 2-year-old OES and are hoping that the right family will come along soon to give Tux the loving, forever home he deserves.

Phoebe

Phoebe is one of TXOESR's newest rescues. Her owner could no longer provide the care she needed, and when she came to us, she was underweight, in need of extensive grooming, and her overall health had begun to decline.

Phoebe is currently being boarded and receiving the care and attention she needs while she gets back on her feet. She is being treated for hookworms, working on gaining weight, and receiving the veterinary care necessary to address her other health needs. With a little time, nourishment, and lots of love, Phoebe is making progress.

We expect Phoebe to be ready for a foster home or potentially adoption within the next few weeks. We can't wait to see this sweet girl healthy, happy, and ready for the next chapter of her life.

Ash, Pelusa & Thor

Ash, Pelusa, and Thor were rescued from a backyard breeding situation by a woman who reached out to TXOESR for help. For more than six months, she has been doing everything she can to manage their significant behavioral challenges and keep them safe.

The three dogs appear to be littermates, but their relationships with one another have become increasingly difficult, with aggressive behavior requiring them to be kept separated. Unfortunately, the limited availability of appropriate foster homes has made it difficult for TXOESR to move these dogs into safer and more suitable surroundings.

In the meantime, this dedicated woman continues to work closely with TXOESR and is providing the dogs with the safest home environment she can. We are continuing to look for foster or adoptive homes that can give Ash, Pelusa, and Thor the individual attention, structure, patience, and love they need to move forward.

These three dogs are a reminder of why foster homes are so important to rescue. Every available foster home gives TXOESR the opportunity to say “yes” to another dog in need.
