NTXWC Helps Good Local Markets
$25 Raised
Good Local Markets was founded in 2009 with the idea that a neighborhood farmers market would improve the health and quality of life in east Dallas. Now in our 9th farmers market season, GLM is committed to this primary activity - operating growers-only neighborhood farmers markets in the Dallas area to bring economic opportunities to local small farms, food businesses and artisans. And by creating neighborhood farmers markets we have also brought fresh locally produced foods to our community, created jobs, encouraged healthy social interactions, and supported diversified use of farmland. Good Local Markets currently operates White Rock Farmers Market and Lakewood Village Farmers Market, two producer only farmers markets that support only local vendors from 150 mile radius of Dallas.
Good Local Markets are operate at a loss in order to support our North Texas Farmers and to provide a safe outdoor grocery experience for customers. Any donations go directly into our basic operating costs and fund out WIC FMNP Double Dollar matching program.
Good Local Markets strengthens the local food economy and creates awareness of the social, environmental, and health benefits of growing and eating local food. Good Local Markets operates community-based, producer only farmers markets in Dallas such as White Rock Farmers Market and Lakewood Tower Farmers Market. Good Local Markets incubates small businesses, supports local farmers and ranches, increases food access, and brings community together. Good Local Markets increases food access by making local fresh food affordable through our Eating Local is a SNAP program, a SNAP incentive program where we double SNAP dollars at the farmers market.
Good Local Markets seeks funds to help continue our Double Dollar SNAP program which helps us make fresh food more affordable for all.
Good Local Markets serves all.
