Our Needs

Every week, Young Life leaders show up where kids are—on campuses, at games, in coffee shops, and around town—building relationships that earn the right to be heard. Through caring adults, fun experiences, mentoring, camp opportunities, and the hope of the Gospel, young people discover that they are known, loved, and valued.

Your generosity makes this ministry possible. Financial support helps provide leader training, outreach events, camp scholarships, program resources, transportation, and ongoing ministry efforts that connect kids to caring adults and a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Together, we can ensure that every young person has the opportunity to experience belonging, purpose, and the love of Christ. Thank you for partnering with us to reach the next generation.

Giving Activity

Mission

Young Life is a group of caring adults who go where kids are, win the right to be heard, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith.

Young Life doesn't start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to build bridges of authentic friendship. Young Life leaders log many hours with youth. We listen to their stories and learn what's important to them because we genuinely care about their joys, triumphs, heartaches and setbacks.

Established in 1941, Young Life is a faith-based mentoring program for youth. In recent years, there has been extensive research documenting the positive impacts of mentoring youth. According to the Office of Justice Programs, mentoring programs provide guidance and support necessary to help young people build self-confidence, learn positive behaviors, stay in school, and avoid potential pitfalls like drugs and gangs.

According to a study funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, youth who participate in mentoring relationships experience a number of positive benefits:

- Mentored youth have better school attendance, a better chance of pursuing a higher education, and better attitudes towards school.

- Mentoring helps prevent substance abuse and reduces negative behaviors.

- Mentored youth have better relationships. They tend to trust their parents more and communicate better.
