Many of us cannot imagine what it is like to live in poverty– to live on the streets or in our car.

What if we learn to think differently about poverty?

Welcome to UGM Dallas, where we are dedicated to transforming lives and ending poverty for individuals and families in the North Texas community. As one of the oldest and most well-known non-profit organizations ministering to those in need, we are thrilled to participate in North Texas Giving Day and partner with you in making our community better.

At UGM Dallas, our primary focus is to serve those struggling with issues related to poverty. We believe that with Christ's help, hope can be restored and these people can live with dignity, respect, and rebuild their lives. Our comprehensive programs and services are designed to address the underlying causes of poverty and empower individuals to overcome challenges and achieve self-sufficiency while sharing the gospel message.

While many of the people who walk through the doors at UGM Dallas are hungry and looking for shelter, several end up finding Jesus and hope for a new beginning. Our faithful supporters, staff and volunteers serve over 450,000 meals a year. At UGM Dallas Calvert Place, we offer shelter to 430 men, with a special area for 50 veterans.  UGM Dallas Center of Hope serves up to 234 single women with children and includes a state-licensed child care program. We also have a 50-unit apartment complex that provides shelter and recovery programs for single women without children. In order to provide stable and affordable living arrangements, UGM Dallas operates three transitional living facilities, including two apartment complexes, for clients ready to take the first step to independence.

Thank you for stopping and truly seeing those in need in our communities as individuals and for serving and mentoring them to develop life changing relationships. Your support of the Discipleship Programs, a self-paced program that takes between nine months to a year to complete, is a major component to their success. We are thankful for our community business partners who provide job opportunities that aid people in moving into permanent housing. The four-phase program available at UGM Dallas provides participants the skills to help them live independently including learning to develop and manage a budget, use a checking account, maintain an apartment, handle stress, make healthy eating choices and maintain personal boundaries. In 2018, we opened a Jr. Discipleship Program for children 5-17 years old based on the Awana curriculum that provides children a stable foundation built on the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Because of your support over the past seven decades, UGM Dallas has grown into a Christ centered community that provides housing, food, clothing, rehabilitation and recovery, vocational training, job placement, medical services, and childcare for the homeless. The primary goal is to transform lives and end homelessness one person at a time.

The purpose of the Union Gospel Mission Dallas is to provide God's hope to hungry, homeless, hurting and helpless people in Dallas. We partner with others to provide food, shelter, clothing, transportation, job readiness training, counseling, healthcare, temporary housing and affording housing to those in need. Equity Statement

Union Gospel Mission Dallas, according to God's Holy Word, believes that every Christian is required by God to "do biblical justice". In Micah 6:8, the scripture says, "Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God" (Christian Standard Bible). We seek to live out God's justice and faithfulness daily in a humble manner. We aspire to display agape love to everyone we encounter.
