About Southside Hornets Athletic Association
Founded in 1975, Southside Hornets Athletic Association (SHAA) has served as a cornerstone of youth development in Fort Worth, Texas for over 50 years. Our mission is to provide a transformational and nurturing environment that empowers youth to maximize their athletic, academic, and life potential.
Serving many of Fort Worth's historically underserved communities, including neighborhoods within ZIP codes 76104, 76105, and 76119, SHAA uses sports as a gateway to mentorship, leadership development, character building, academic encouragement, and positive community engagement.
Our motto, "Keeping kids in sports, not courts," reflects our commitment to creating safe spaces where young people can learn discipline, teamwork, resilience, accountability, and confidence while building meaningful relationships with coaches, mentors, law enforcement partners, educators, and community leaders.
As an official National Police Athletic/Activities League (NPAL) chapter, SHAA works alongside community partners to provide year-round programming that includes football, basketball, track and field, mentoring, leadership development, health and wellness initiatives, family engagement activities, and youth enrichment opportunities.
Your support helps us remove barriers to participation by providing scholarships, equipment, uniforms, transportation, mentoring programs, educational opportunities, and positive experiences that expose youth to new possibilities and pathways for success.
When you invest in Southside Hornets, you are investing in the future of Fort Worth's youth, families, and communities.
Together, we are developing leaders, strengthening communities, and keeping kids in sports, not courts.
