POTP's goal is to formalize transition homes for at-risk youth who are preparing to age out of the system, as well as men who battle hardship after being released from incarceration. Transitional housing “TRAINsition Place”. Through compassion, empathy, and peer support, we aim to start with a facility that does more than just house young men, but programs them through their traumas into their triumph. Through stem programming, financial literacy, job readiness, and employment opportunities, they will gain the necessary tools for success.
The first year is to start with one facility. Utilize Peer Recovery Specialists (male recovery coaches with lived- experience) to support the young men through male leadership and relatable awareness. To utilize organizational partnerships for resource base and programming. Three TRAINsition Place are planned within five years, as well as the development of a housing community for young men who are aging out at 18 to 25 years of age. The young men will need a place they can call home so that they can continue the journey toward regaining their capital of life.
