Continuing a legacy that has already transformed countless lives
Preserving the teachings of Msgr. Don Fischer (1940–2026) and carrying his message forward to continue the work of awakening hearts

For nearly five decades, Monsignor Don Fischer helped thousands of people discover a deeper relationship with God — not through fear, but through a message of hope, peace, and the recognition that God is already present within them.

Through his homilies, daily reflections, retreats, and writings, he became a trusted spiritual companion for people around the world. Listeners who had grown weary of shame-based religion found in his voice something different: permission to be human and holy at the same time.

Today, Pastoral Reflections Institute carries that mission forward — ensuring his life-changing message continues to reach future generations.

Who Don Was

Don Fischer was born in 1940 into motion — nine moves across five states before high school. In that instability, he learned something that would define his ministry: how to be present to another person's interior world. He became attuned early to his mother's emotional needs, developing a capacity for deep listening that would later draw thousands to his radio broadcasts.

After seminary in Alabama and Arkansas, he served forty-three years across Dallas-area parishes — including thirteen years as chaplain at the University of Dallas, where he helped design the Chapel of the Incarnation.

But Don's spiritual path wasn't confined to parish walls. His faith was shaped by Jungian therapy, meditation, yoga, and the discoveries of quantum physics. He never treated these as replacements for Catholic tradition — he experienced them as deepening, different languages pointing toward the same mystery.

This synthesis wasn't conventional. It was honest. And it resonated precisely because it was.

In 2010, he retired — not away, but inward. He built his home in east Dallas and gave himself to reflection and discovering the deeper hidden truths and patterns that guide us along our paths.

On May 24, 2026, Msgr. Don passed peacefully, surrounded by family.

What Continues

Following Monsignor Don's passing earlier this year, Pastoral Reflections Institute entered a new chapter — preserving his teachings while expanding access to them through podcasts, daily reflections, books, and new digital resources.

This isn't a ministry winding down. It's a ministry widening.

Every day, someone searching for hope opens one of our daily reflections.
Every week, listeners continue hearing Monsignor Don's timeless homilies on SiriusXM.
Every year, new readers discover his message through books, podcasts, and online resources.

The discoveries continue because people like you sustain it.

The Memoir

This year marks the publication of Monsignor Don's memoir, In Between: A Priest's Memoir of a Life Transformed — a personal account of his spiritual journey, from a childhood shaped by motion and caretaking through decades of priesthood, inner work, and discovery.

The memoir represents what PRI is committed to: not simply archiving old recordings, but finding new ways for Don's voice to reach people who never heard him on the radio — people who may not yet know they're searching for exactly what he spent his life saying.

Your support helps us continue sharing that legacy through both his existing teachings and new resources inspired by his life's work.

Msgr. Don spent his life helping people discover God's presence. Now it's our opportunity to help ensure that message continues reaching others

Your generosity makes this possible

Preserving decades of Monsignor Don's recorded homilies and teachings — not as artifacts, but as living encounters.

Keeping daily reflections arriving in inboxes each morning — free, accessible, waiting for whoever needs them that day.

Publishing new books and study resources so Don's wisdom reaches people who never heard him on the radio.

Introducing a new generation to his message — that God is already present within them, and that freedom, peace, and joy are not rewards for perfect faith, but recognizing what is already there and accepting their inheritance.
