What does this picture look like to you?

Maybe it's a single mom doing her best to hold everything together. Maybe it's a parent facing illness, loss, or unexpected financial hardship. Maybe it's someone who looks like they have everything under control, while quietly carrying burdens no one else can see.
That picture was me.
As the founder of Next Generation Pathways, I know firsthand what it's like to be a hardworking parent facing circumstances beyond your control. From the outside, I had a good job, a home, and a reliable car. But when unexpected challenges arose, I found myself making impossible choices: Could I afford my child's sports fees? How would I pay for a school program, prom expenses, or a cap and gown for graduation?
The hardest part wasn't the financial hardship itself. It was carrying the weight of it alone and feeling embarrassed to ask for help, afraid of being judged, and wondering where families like mine could turn with dignity. I wasn't looking for a handout; I simply needed a helping hand during a difficult season. Yet I didn't qualify for traditional assistance and had nowhere safe to go.
That's why I founded Next Generation Pathways.
We exist to provide compassionate, confidential support to hardworking families experiencing temporary financial hardships. We help students remain connected to the activities, programs, and milestone experiences that build confidence, create belonging, and shape future success.
A temporary setback should never become a lifelong missed opportunity.
Together, we can help students stay on track, support families with dignity, and create pathways of hope, opportunity, and success for the next generation.
