Marshas Heart

          Marsha's Heart is a ministry devoted to shepherding widows through discipleship and community to stand on the promises of scripture and grieve in a way that is healthy and whole.  We strive to equip them spiritually and practically to walk into a future full of life, light, and hope.  Each new widow we meet with receives an intake bag with books, a special journal and thoughtful gifts to help bring comfort and peace. Being a part of a community that emphatically grasps the depth of spousal loss is profoundly important in a healthy grieving process. 

          We meet one on one, in small groups, and in larger group settings.  We use a faith driven curriculum for widows with new grief.  We use Christian books and Bible studies to keep taking secure steps forward for those further along in their grief journey.  We also host events 6-8 times a year for fellowship, devotions, worship, practical tools, and laughter.  

          We serve widows of every age and stage.  We have many young widows in their 20, 30s and 40s that have newborns all the way to college age children still in the home.  We also serve widows in their 50s-70s.  We are able to love on and serve these families practically by helping financially with counseling, child care costs, baby registries, Christmas gifts, repairs in the home, occasional rent and bill benevolence, and other practical needs.  We have had several ladies undergo cancer therapies and we have been able to assist with insurance costs, meals, and care baskets.  We have a local group of men who are handy that are willing to help with home projects.  We also are building a network of resources to help in all different areas of life from financial counseling and legal aide to yard work and electric/AC and heating services. We send cards to each lady on important days during the year like birthdays and anniversaries. 

          We are grateful for church partnerships in the area to helps us to show each lady that they are not alone.  The Lord has provided people to walk alongside them and support them. We would love for you to consider giving to our organization so we can continue the work the Lord has given us as we comfort other widows with the same comfort He has given us.  Our key verse is 1 Peter 5:10 "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered for a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."
