In This House (ITH) is a Texas nonprofit working to increase access to quality, affordable housing for low- to moderate-income families—particularly the “missing middle” of teachers, nurses, first responders, retail workers, and other hardworking individuals who often earn too much to qualify for traditional housing assistance but not enough to afford a modest home near where they work.

We believe affordable housing strengthens entire communities by creating greater stability, diversity, and economic opportunity. ITH works to make that possible through three interconnected areas:

Strategic Development: We collaborate with private developers and local municipalities to help bring high-quality affordable and mixed-income housing to communities rich with opportunity, building the political and community support necessary to move projects forward.

Advocacy & Education: We work with community and civic leaders to challenge misconceptions about affordable housing, combat NIMBY attitudes, and advocate for policies that make it easier to create the housing our communities need.

Residential Services: Our work continues after families move in. We connect residents with programs designed to support long-term success, including financial empowerment and homebuyer education, computer and career skills training, after-school scholarships, health and nutrition resources, and community events.

At In This House, we’re not just working to create more affordable housing—we’re helping build stronger communities where working families have the opportunity to thrive.

Help Us Raise $50,000 for Our 5th Anniversary

This year marks a major milestone for In This House: our 5th Anniversary and our biggest year of growth yet. In just this year, we have expanded from supporting one affordable housing development to three—creating new opportunities to serve even more families and communities across North Texas.

To celebrate five years of impact and prepare for this next chapter, we have set a goal to raise $50,000 through North Texas Giving Day.

And when you give to In This House, every dollar you donate goes directly toward our programs and the families we serve. Our Founder and President takes no salary, and our organizational overhead is covered by other funding sources, allowing North Texas Giving Day contributions to directly support our mission and programming.

Unlike many organizations, we don't fundraise on a regular basis. But as our reach grows, so does the need for the programs and resources we provide. Your support will help us expand resident services, educational opportunities, community programming, and essential resources at the affordable housing communities we serve.

Your Gift Can Make a Real Difference

$100 can sponsor a community night or children's craft event, helping neighbors connect and creating meaningful experiences for resident families.

$200 can provide a full year of after-school care for one resident child, giving them a safe, supportive place to learn and grow.

$250 can help defray the costs of an educational seminar, including our new financial education and empowerment courses designed to help residents build greater financial stability.

$500 can also help sponsor a resident health fair, connecting families with basic health screenings, wellness information, and valuable local resources.

$1000 can help stock the Tobias Place food pantry for an year, providing food and household essentials to families who need them.

Our goal is $50,000—but the impact goes far beyond a number. Every gift helps us strengthen the communities we serve and ensure that families living in affordable housing have access not only to a place to call home, but also to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
