The Eagle Annual Fund

Imagine Lone Star International Academy (ILSIA) is a non-profit, open-enrollment public charter school established in 2020, and is one of the few schools in Collin County to offer the prestigious IB Primary Years Programme to students in grades K-5 at no cost to families. As an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, we provide an education that champions service, intercultural awareness, inquiry, and world language acquisition in Spanish or Hebrew. Our students do more than learn facts- they cultivate connections between the classroom and the real-world, learning how to collaboratively embrace opportunities and problem-solve challenges in both their local and global communities. 

ILSIA currently ranks in the top 1% of public-school districts in Texas and is among the top 4 charter schools statewide. Notably, Imagine Lone Star Academy has received academic designations alongside an "A" rating from the Texas Education Agency in Student Achievement, School Progress and Closing the Gaps. This underscores our teachers' commitment to the academic growth and development of all students.

Since we opened our doors in 2020, Imagine Lone Star International Academy has experienced a 73% increase in overall student enrollment. The Eagle Annual Fund is focused on building our capacity to continue to grow and serve our community. Donor giving allows us to offset operational expenses and provide our students and teachers the tools and resources needed to enrich student learning outcomes and opportunities.

As a public charter school, Imagine Lone Star International Academy receives less funding than traditional independent districts (ISDs), creating a significant gap in per student funding. While ISDs receive state funding and can also generate local revenue through property taxes within their district boundaries (roughly 70% of overall funding), public charter schools primarily rely on state funding based solely on student enrollment and attendance, and do not have access to local property tax revenue. As a result, public charter schools like ILSIA have fewer resources available per student.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 and increase overall donors to 125, building a wider network of family and community giving that will support our school’s continued growth. Each and every gift, big or small, is an investment in our children. 

Donor funds have previously been used to support:

• the implementation of Toddle, a learning management system that supports IB teaching and learning, family communication, and curriculum planning
• Playground mulch
• Grade-level inquiry and learning resources across subjects
• Library books
• P.E. equipment
• Student learning experiences, such as protective glasses during the Eclipse!
