Camp Brave Heart Inc

Camp Brave Heart is a charitable organization, 501(c)(3), that provides a fun and memorable camp experience for children with congenital heart disease at no cost to their families. 

Camp Brave Heart was founded in 2016 by a group of physicians, nurses, Child life specialists, and social workers to provide a safe summer camp experience for the congenital heart patients at Medical City Children’s Hospital, whose medical needs would prevent them from attending a traditional summer camp. 

According to the CDC, congenital heart defects (CHD) affect approximately 1 in every 100 children born in the United States. Of those children born with CHD, 1 in 4 has a critical defect that requires surgical repair within the first year of life. You likely know someone affected by congenital heart disease.  The mission of Camp Brave Heart is to encourage, educate, and inspire children living with congenital heart disease. Throughout the weekend, campers will participate in activities such as swimming, archery, zip line, crafts and much more. We aim to encourage growth and self-reflection through participating in these activities alongside other children who are also coping with congenital heart disease. We also strive to enhance the quality of life and create a supportive community for all children with congenital heart disease.

Our camp is staffed 100% by volunteers from both the medical team and members of the community. We rely on the generosity of donors like you to make Camp Brave Heart a reality for our campers. With your donation, we will be able to uphold our camp mission and provide an amazing experience for our campers.
