FUMC Hurst Day School

A nonprofit organization

The Day School at First United Methodist Church of Hurst began in 1955 as a Kindergarten and has evolved into a Premier Preschool. As a ministry of the church, our purpose is to provide an exemplary educational program for infants, toddlers, and preschool children in a positive Christian environment. Day School strives to meet the needs of the whole child through learning experiences that encourage physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive development and prepares them for a successful transition to Kindergarten.

Our Needs

Because this is a ministry of the church designed to meet the social, emotional, and cognitive needs and prepare children for Kindergarten, the tuition rates that families are charged do not cover the operating costs of the school. In order to keep the tuition costs affordable for all families, the Day School must rely on supplemental revenue. Some of our families have experienced unexpected illness and are temporarily unable to work and the Day School is in need of funds to be able to offset operating costs and offer scholarships to support families through these difficult times. Otherwise many of these families end up having to withdraw their children, thus hindering their readiness for Kindergarten.

Mission

The First United Methodist Church of Hurst Day School provides an exemplary educational program for young children in a positive, Christian environment through interactive experiences that promote physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development.
