Women Rock

A nonprofit organization

Inspired by one woman's brave journey with breast cancer and her unshakable faith, Women Rock was founded in December 2010, just two short months after Susan Hicks lost her battle with breast cancer. Gone but not forgotten, Susan's brave and generous spirit endures and drives Women Rock forward as we fight against breast cancer in our communities. What has evolved from a home office, fulfilling 60 requests for services our first year, to 1200 requests for services in 2018, and occupying a 2300 square foot office, we are quickly outgrowing, has helped us realize that this need is not going away. Women Rock is an independent grassroots nonprofit with a mission of saving and changing lives by increasing awareness and the early detection of breast cancer while providing hope and support to those we serve. Women Rock is driven by the passion and desire to save lives, and provide breast cancer patients and survivors with a therapeutic environment with services that promote healing, fellowship, and support.

Our Needs

Women Rock is driven by the passion and desire to provide breast cancer patients and survivors with a therapeutic environment and services that promote healing, fellowship, and support. Through our client-based programs, Women Rock emphasizes breast cancer awareness by educating communities, offering financial assistance to those diagnosed with breast cancer, and making early detection available to our community. Women Rock works towards tipping the scales in favor of those in need, advocating for underserved and underinsured women. Giving Hope. Making a Difference. Defeating Breast Cancer.

Mission

Saving and changing lives by increasing awareness and the early detection of breast cancer and providing hope and support to those we serve.

Needs

Women Rock continues to see an increased rise in requests for services we receive. To be able to meet the needs of our communities, we need funding to help us help our communities. In addition, we need to increase our volunteer base.

Equity Statement

Our approach to diversity is simple: it’s about embracing everyone, and giving all an equal opportunity to serve or be served by Women Rock. From cultivating a culture where all employees, volunteers, and clients feel safe to be who they are, to continuously tailoring diversity initiatives that support all. We are committed to making our world a fair and equitable space for all.
