Your donation on North Texas Giving Day is about the impact YOU make…on our students, our institution, our local community and the world.

The UNTHSC Foundation strives to secure philanthropic gifts to support innovation, allow for programmatic sustainability and create opportunities to meet the mission of The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth—to create solutions for a healthier community.

History

The Health Science Center at Fort Worth is a six-college graduate university on a 33-acre campus in Fort Worth’s Cultural District. Here we train the health care providers of the future while expanding the frontiers of scientific discovery.

Founded in 1970, the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine anchors what today is one of the nation’s premier graduate academic health centers. Our curriculum is delivered in an interdisciplinary model which closely mirrors real-world clinical settings. Students learn to work in teams and to develop communication skills that are patient-centric.

Collaboration is encouraged among the six schools. In addition to TCOM, HSC includes the School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Public Health, UNT System College of Pharmacy,College of  Nursing and the School of Health Professions — home to the departments of Physician Assistant Studies and Physical Therapy.

The clinical practice at HSC, HSC Health, is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for people in Tarrant County and beyond. We work toward being innovative leaders in efforts to create solutions for a healthier community. Through education and research, we keep patients at the center of our efforts. Our patients have the benefit of enhanced expertise and added attention that goes along with being cared for by an academic medical center.

Institutional areas of strength include RAM,aging & Alzheimer’s Disease, forensic genetics, health disparities research and initiatives, simulation training and vision research. We have achieved widely recognized national prominence in several of these areas.

HSC has an annual enrollment of more than 2,400 students and more than 11,100 graduate alumni. Clinical and community outreach encounters with patients exceed 92,000 annually. The institution makes an annual economic impact of more than $600 million in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

The nearly 1,500 faculty and staff are grounded in a valued-based culture which is founded on trust and promotes an environment which serves others first and is both visionary and collaborative, ideals which are fostered by integrity and respect
