The PREP Factory

A nonprofit organization

The PREP Factory has made a considerable impact on North Texas students through its college prep and retention-focused workshops, student leadership institute, and other community-focused programs. We have directly helped students through our Student Leadership Institute be accepted into 194 colleges/universities and receive almost $6.44M in scholarship offers. Our community-wide impact has reached over $1,500 students with our college prep workshops for scholarships.

Our college graduation rate is at 100% with all working in their fields.

Additionally, we were highly instrumental in helping a few of them become interns with the FBI Teen Academy, Children's Defense Fund, PepsiCo, and the high-end fashion brand, Gucci.

Our Annual College Trunk Party/Send Off adopts each senior class of Young Men's Leadership Academy while also aiding college-bound young across North Texas. To date, we're proud to share that we've helped 99 young men successfully transition to college by providing their dorm and school supplies!

At that annual event, we've also awarded book scholarships and provided new laptops.

Our Needs

Our most pressing need is for financial resources and/or connections to those resources to make our community efforts even more effective. Specifically, we hope to attain funds for fortifying our test prep courses, hire innovative professionals for our workshops, help students access  technology such as computers/laptops and SAT/ACT-approved calculators. We desire to publish a workbook that complements our curriculum.

Mission

The Prep Factory aims to educate and offer college and career readiness and academic planning services to students 7th grade and up.

Needs

Our most pressing need is for financial resources to make our community efforts even more effective. Specifically, we hope to attain funds for purchasing technology such as computers/laptops, SAT/ACT approved calculators and instruction and other educational materials.

Donor support would also aid in us bringing in leading professionals to facilitate critical pre-college workshops using real world processes and applications.

We need safe, reliable transportation taking students on college tours, providing meals on trips, helping send students off to college with dorm and college supplies, and for creating other programs that help meet the college planning needs of the community.

Furthermore, our agency needs funding to expand our college fair to twice a year.

Equity Statement

Our staff's professional experiences in the legal and government fields play an integral role in solidifying The PREP Factory's responsibility as a K-16 education entity to provide a more diverse and inclusive academic environment using cultural relevance, transparency, and relatability.

Furthermore, our diligent effort is to continue to close the achievement gap. We serve as a bridge, connecting colleges and universities to historically marginalized, traditional and non-traditional students and their families. The crux of our foundation is to provide college and career ready access to all stakeholders, sharing a vested interest in mitigating the wealth and education gaps.

As mindful, influential education-leaders, our diversity and inclusion goal is to ensure that students and families' dreams are increasingly achieved regardless of their belief, sound, look, and learning ability.
