Founded in 2018, #TeenWritersProject provides a collaborative and engaging space for teens to write, be published, and get paid as a means to manage their mental, emotional, social, and economic challenges. We support our mission through writing workshops, publishing, paid internships, and literary events. 

All these experiences are an invitation for teens to take a closer look at themselves and investigate their goals and their world from a place of compassion and spirit without consequence or judgment.

Mission

Needs

All of our programs are free for teens. So, your donation of just $250 can sponsor one teen during our summer program.

If you want to support our broader initiatives, including writing workshops in schools, our Writer's Studio community workshops, publishing our Lit Zine and journals, and empowering teens in our career and leadership development training, a contribution of $250 each month or $500 each quarter will make a meaningful impact in helping us shape the next generation of fearlessly creative storytellers and break cycles of generational poverty.

Equity Statement

Literary and artistic citizenship is the obligation of writers and artists to raise awareness and address the nuances of social, political, economic, environmental, cultural, and historical praxis in what we create. It is also the investment in the resources in policies, practices, and actions that produce equitable access, power, and outcomes for all we serve.

At #TeenWritersProject, we recognize that historically, systems of privilege and access are unequal, especially in education, in publishing, and specifically, among teens. So, in order to create a more socially and culturally sustainable and just literary culture as diverse and equitable as the stories we will read and write, it is our obligation to welcome and support all teens, regardless of their race, culture, zip code, disability, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship, social, cultural or economic status.
