Hello friends!

THRIVE— Together Harnessing Resources to Give Individuals Voice and Empowerment — is a THR Community Impact program which addresses the mental health needs of students and integrates food security and other wellness programs on school campuses to ensure youth and families have the resources they need for a healthy and productive life.

The key program features for all students include:

  • A resiliency skills curriculum
  • A mental health component
  • An on-campus school grocery store

THRIVE is based on the program rolled out in 2019 in Sanger ISD and was originally funded through Texas Health’s Community Impact initiative. The THRIVE program is scheduled to provide services to students in five North Texas schools by the end of 2023.

The start-up cost to implement THRIVE over two years is approximately $260,000 per site. Examples of start-up needs:

  • $3,750 for wireless-enabled tablets for 150 students
  • $15,000 for grocery refrigeration, food items and other essential products
  • $15,000 for resiliency skills software training for campus staff and faculty
  • $75,000 for annual salary and benefits of trauma-informed counselors

The THRIVE Program is being implemented in the following areas:

Sanger ISD, Linda Tutt High School – Began 2019

FWISD, OD Wyatt HS - Fall 2023

Inspired Vision Academy Secondary (IVAS) – opening August 2023

Dallas ISD Family Resource Center at West Dallas STEM - opening October 2023

Terrell ISD, Furlough Middle School – September 2023

Fernando and I have chosen to support the THRIVE program because we want our school children to have the assistance they need to succeed at school and in life. If you wish to donate to a specific THRIVE area program (i.e., Dallas, Ft. Worth, Terrell, etc.), you can earmark your gift in the “notes box” on the giving page. Otherwise, your gift will be used to fund the THRIVE program most in need across the THR service area. My goal is to raise $5,000. I hope you will join with me in making a meaningful gift to support this critical program!

SPECIAL MATCHING:

Because I am a member of the THR Foundation Board, every donation made on my page will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of your gift. Every donation counts, no matter the amount, and helps support students and their family’s overcome adversity when they have behavioral health support and they know where their next meal is coming from.

Best,

Patricia De Leon
