Join us in Inspiring Possibilities for Students of Dallas!

Please join me in supporting Journey Forward Mentoring, an organization based in Dallas that encourages and supports local high school and postsecondary students. Our focus is on offering guidance, educational resources, career advice, and life skills essential to help create brighter futures.

The Urgent Need

In Dallas, students from low-income households face a very large gap in access to adequate access to college and career readiness support. On average, public high school students receive only 38 minutes of college and career advising over their entire four years. This lack of support results in less than 20% of Dallas ISD students from being able to graduate college and be career ready. Less than a third of Dallas students will ultimately obtain a college degree or technical certificate.

Our Solution

Journey Forward steps in to fill this gap by providing consistent, long-term mentoring for high school and post secondary students. Our mission is simple: To inspire and guide Dallas students to excel academically, professionally, and ultimately in their communities by connecting them with local professionals through one-on-one mentoring

A true grassroots organization which began in 1 high school - Adamson High School in Oak Cliff - in 2014 with a few passionate professionals looking to give back to the local community through mentorship. It has since expanded to 3 High Schools and 65 students in the 22-23 and is continuing to grow. This year, its goal is to serve 120 high school students at 5 partner sites and 20 postsecondary students.

Our Financial Need

As we continue to expand, so do our financial requirements. We need funds to extend our post-secondary support programs and to employ a coordinating team to handle strategic planning, guidance, and administration—a critical foundation for the success of any impactful organization.

My personal Journey

I was born into a family of hard-working individuals who never took opportunities for granted. My great-grandparents fled Armenia during WW1, eventually settling in Mexico. I grew up in Juarez, where my parents' professional success paved the way for my education and the life I live today. Their journey underscored the endless possibilities that come from a disciplined, focused approach to life.

I recognize that I wouldn't be where I am today without my family's guidance. Mentorship, I believe, can offer similar inspiration and guidance to others, and this belief is why I proudly serve on the board of Journey Forward Mentoring.
