Enrichment for Fort Worth Shelter Animals

Chance is my why .. when I feel like giving up, he is the reason I continue to fight this heartbreaking, uphill battle. For almost 12 years my heart dog, Chance, has been right by my side for every major milestone in my life. Graduating college, starting a new job, getting engaged, marriage, saying goodbye to my first dog, Maya, bringing home a baby- and everything in between. 

I adopted Chance after he was set to be euthanized at Fort Worth Animal Care and Control in January of 2012 just shorty after I started volunteering there. I still remember what kennel he was in when I picked him up to transport him to his foster in Dallas. As soon as he got into my car though, I knew we were meant to be together forever. 

I cry over my healthy dog dying one day while there are thousands of dog at the shelter just hoping to be noticed. I can only hope every dog at FWACC has the same outcome as my soul dog, Chance. In the meantime though, Cowtown Friends goal is to ensure every animal gets daily in-kennel enrichment to help their mental well-being while waiting for their family. This NTGD, please help us fund enrichment for the 18,000 animals that walk through the doors of FWACC for another year.
