A note from Q, the mentee:

My name is Quinton Long. I am 16 years old, and I am a part of a great outreach mentoring program. My mother is raising me and my siblings by herself, so about 8 years ago she enrolled me in a mentorship program MB2B (Mentoring Brother 2 Brother) and it’s been an amazing experience for me and many other boys. Over the years in this program, I have learned so many life skills that are molding me into a smart young man! Most importantly, coming from a home where there is no Dad, because of this program specifically, I have always had good and positive men to look up to. This year they are asking each of us mentees to raise $300, to help support our activities during the rest of the year. I would greatly appreciate it if you would support us by sending back a donation of any amount. This is a really is a great program and please know what your gift will offer to us “at risk” African American youth boys' opportunities that otherwise would not be afforded to us!

A note from mother of the mentee:

There is not a doubt in my mind that if you asked anyone today, if our current youth of America need mentoring, that they wouldn't say yes.! Being a single mother. Is very challenging at times as there is so many ups and downs. Having a program such as MB2B to lean on and depend on when it comes to helping raise your son has been one of the biggest blessings in our life. They can relate to him in ways that I as a female and a mother cannot. They teach him things and they have shown him things that I have been unable to. They don't just care for the physical side of the child, they actually mentor the spiritual, mental and financial sides as well. They have taught him how to tie a tie and how to save money. They have taken him on many college tours to introduce him to the next season in life once you graduate. All I'm asking Is that if you actually feel there is a need to have mentoring still with our future men of America, that you make a donation towards a great program. Whether it's $5 or $50, every dollar truly Counts. Also please share this on all social media platforms that you have. Because you may be able to reach someone that I cannot.
