Evanescent Covered Arena

Evanescent Mustang Rescue and Sanctuary, initially established as an LLC in May 2015, was created for the prevention of animal cruelty through educating the public about horse care and safety. We are dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of captive mustangs and burros that have been abused, neglected, or are in danger of going to slaughter. Since becoming a 501c3 non-profit organization in May 2017 the focus has expanded to include the development of our Evanescent Mustang Assisted Psychotherapy programs where the mustangs and burros, who are healing from their own traumas, can assist in the healing process for individuals and families in the greater Texoma area.  Once we are able to build the covered arena we will be able to offer more of our therapeutic services for Texoma Veterans, 1st Responders and youth in need throughout the year, rain or shine! 

MUSTANGS & WARHORSES - M&W is a specialized Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) program for Texoma Veterans and 1st Responders. This experiential therapeutic program is a 10 week course with 2 hour sessions to create a more powerful experience for each participant who will receive a total of 20 hours per course. Rather than talking one-on-one with a therapist in an office, this program offers an outdoor setting combining a trauma-focused psychotherapist and rescued Evanescent Mustangs with Veterans/1st Responders who are battling a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

JESSI'S PROMISE - Jessi, the young spirit behind the creation of this program, desperately wanted all kids regardless of where they come from to know the love of a horse and the joy of gentling the wild ones. Jessi died at a young age, but during her short precious life she could gentle the hardest of souls equine and human, and her bright soul had a quiet patience that she shared everywhere she went. We are so thankful to be able to offer JESSI'S PROMISE to honor her wishes of helping other children learn the love she shared with mustangs.
