Since 1975, The Stewpot, a community ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, has offered a safe haven for homeless and at-risk individuals of Dallas, providing resources for basic survival needs as well as opportunities to start a new life. Over the years, it has evolved from a soup kitchen into a social services hub responding to the needs of those who are unhoused and living in poverty. Today, it is also assisting those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, many of whom never imagined their incomes would drop so precipitously that they might be facing housing or food insecurity. In 2021, The Stewpot began its 46th year of service by expanding its program offerings for the first time into housing.

The new Rapid Rehousing Program is the latest response to community need in a complement of programs designed to assist individuals and families experiencing economic and housing insecurity in the areas of Stabilization, Housing, Nutritional Support, Education, and Enrichment. The Stewpot's work not only serves individual clients, but also helps underpin collective efforts to support Dallas' most vulnerable citizens. Its central location in downtown Dallas means it can serve individuals and families throughout the county.

This year alone, our amazing volunteers have dedicated over 8,500 volunteer hours to The Stewpot! We couldn't do what we do without the support of our amazing community of volunteers. Thank you for your support and partnership as together we work towards strengthening our community.
