Jade is a sweet little pitty mix who was surrendered to Angie because Jade's owner left her at his mom's house and his mom didn't have the resources to care for her properly, so she asked Angie to help out. Jade hadn't eaten for FOUR DAYS when Angie went to get her. Jade has been getting healthy and getting through her heat cycle so we can get her spayed.  Donations will be used directly to pay Jade's vetting bills.

What's a dog rescuer want for her 84th birthday? Money! :D

For twenty-five years, Angie's Friends has been led by Angie Manriquez whose love of dogs and cats and sympathy for any animal in need knows no bounds.  In addition to  hundreds of dogs and cats, Angie's Friends has also rescued and found loving homes for a few chickens, turtles, ducks, and rabbits over the years. Angie's Friends has stepped up to help provide vet services of various kinds to families requesting aid who want to keep their pets, but because of financial struggles cannot afford ongoing needed vet services.

Angie is a neighborhood resource for low-income people who love their animals but have limited means to care for them. Through word of mouth, they find Angie and ask for assistance with everything from food to surrendering animals to assistance in emergency situations. Angie’s Friends provides medical care for animals that go home to their families that includes tumor removal, treatment of heartworm, amputations, flea control, antibiotics, deworming, spay/neuter, and mange.

The Angie's Friends adoption fees cover a portion of the typical standard vetting for stray or abandoned animals (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, and flea and heartworm preventative), but are not substantial enough to support the larger vet bills.

Angie also continues to help neglected yard dogs to have a better life by replacing heavy metal chains hung around backyard dogs with light weight cables, providing food and clean water, providing flea preventative and fly deterrent, and vetting when necessary allowing these dogs to have a better life.  Angie's Friends rarely gets reimbursed for these necessary expenses; loving pet owners don't always have the means to help their pets.  Angie's Friends is committed to helping dogs and cats, whatever their plight to give them better lives.

As Angie celebrates her 84th birthday in April, the Angie's Friends volunteers want to celebrate her loving commitment in the amount of $12,000 to help further the mission of Angie's Friends. Many many thanks for your support.
