Help Empower TGNC Individuals

We offer a variety of programs and services for Transgender Non-Conforming (TGNC) individuals, including peer support, educational workshops, and referrals to Trans-related care & resources.  Our primary services are virtual or in-person in Texas and New York, including the Identity Document Program (Name Change Assistance), HIV & affirming support groups, and referrals to Gender-related care.

Nu Transgender Movement, Inc. was founded in 2014 by a Black Trans woman from Dallas, Texas. After coming out to her Southern mom at 14, she lived unhoused through her teen years into early adulthood, relying on friends, chosen family, and an occasional dumpster to provide meals and shelter.  To improve the quality of life for transgender non-conforming & non-binary people in the deep South, Nu Transgender Movement, Inc has served the community for over ten years. We have provided training to Dallas Police, Dallas Courts & Detention, Dallas Parks & Recs, and many other Federal, State, and local entities. Through the Federal Court System, we have provided over 200 trans citizens in Texas and New York with updated identity documents (ID, DL, SSI, Passport) to match their gender identity. We actively partner with organizations like TENT, Equality Texas, and Resource Center Dallas to organize at the state capitol to fight for trans & LGBTQ+ equality. Our organization has grown and evolved, but our commitment to creating a better world for (TGNC) individuals remains the same.
