Help alcoholic women, their families, and their communities find hope, clarity, and joy.

Together we can build a thriving community of recovered women and their families — one woman at a time.

The Magdalen House is non-profit organization committed to helping alcoholic women and their families establish long-term, sustainable recovery by providing comprehensive, spiritually based programming that is both accessible and effective.

Founded in Dallas in 1987, The Magdalen House continues to be the only agency in the DFW area to offer recovery services, without ongoing government assistance or payment from insurance, 100% free of charge. After 35 years, The Magdalen House continues to play a vital role in changing the lives of alcoholic women and their families, ultimately creating a healthier and thriving community.

The agency presents the simple problem of alcoholism, along with a practical application of the solution through the following programs:

First Step Program

A two-week residential program which provides acute care and physically separates a woman from alcohol. Each woman is provided with education and resources to establish sobriety and build a foundation of recovery in a safe and supportive environment.

First Step Program

Next Step Program

A three-phase (approximately three-month), non-residential aftercare program, which serves as a structured alternative to traditional clinical outpatient treatment. Each woman is provided with support and structure to sustain her sobriety while growing in her recovery from alcoholism.

Next Step program

Community Program

Solution-focused classes, meetings, and workshops are provided seven days a week, 365 days a year. These are open to any alcoholic woman, at any stage of recovery. Additionally, the agency has dedicated volunteers who provide Family Support to families and loved ones of alcoholics and addicts.

COMMUNITY PROGRAM

Resources and Education

The cultivation of partnerships in the community to connect alcoholic women and their families to resources that include sober living, counseling, women's health, among others, while educating the greater community on the disease of alcoholism.

Mission

The mission of The Magdalen House is to help women achieve sobriety and sustain recovery from alcoholism at no cost and based on 12-Step spiritual principles.

Needs

We are currently seeking support for our on-going operational expenses, including funding and resources for each of our programs: First Step, Next Step, and Community which includes Family Support and Resources and Education.

We believe that when you invest in an alcoholic woman, you help her family, her place of employment, and the community as a whole. Whether your donation is $1, $1,000, or somewhere in-between, every gift helps save alcoholic women's lives.

Equity Statement

Alcoholism does not discriminate. To realize the mission of helping alcoholic women achieve sobriety and sustain recovery, the Magdalen House proudly employs, engages, and welcomes women of any ethnicity, culture, age, religious affiliation, and sexual orientation to the organization.
