The Scholastic Marathon training has impacted over 1,500+ students in fifteen years. 100% graduation from high school and 85% has graduated from college. All my students who have completed the Scholastic Marathon training knew that their educational goal is not completed until they graduate from college.

The Pathway to Freedom exhibit debuted at the Dallas Civil Rights Museum in 2015. This exhibit has impacted over 2,500+ visitors and school students. Activities, games and learning props are used as a review after the tour in order to reinforce the learning experience shared by the docents on their 90 minute tour. Students leave the museum empowered and confident to share the information they learned with others. We are constantly introducing more learning tools to engage the students as we add new pieces to the exhibit.

Mrs. C. is a retired elementary teacher of 41 years. Her literacy and good manners skill training for toddlers will help them be prepared for pre-K and K. They are introduced to alphabets and numbers recognition, site words, crafts using their name, writing and pencil positioning with games and exercises used to reinforce the learning.

Our Needs

Our current need is to complete the Pathway to Freedom Exhibit's six main focus areas so students can connect the dots of historical events when visiting the museum. We want to provide students with comprehensive information to fill in any gaps they may have so they can become the voice of history and truly know the history when they leave us through customized games and activities. Our brand statement at the museum is: "In order to become the voice of history, you must first know history. " Secondly, we would like to provide our virtual Scholastic Marathon Training for middle and high school students free or at a discounted rate. We understand for some families around the country, they have been impacted financially by the pandemic and we want to assist these families with resources for their children. Thirdly, our literacy program needs studio time so Mrs. C. can share her 44 years of teaching experience with parents on how to best prepare their child for pre-K or K. We realize that parents are stressed out when they either coming home from work or at home working. So we have decided to empower toddlers and encourage them that reading reading is fun to do. With Mrs. C's help, the child will have that one-on-one attention they need to thrive and survive during virtual face time.

Mission

Our mission is to transform, inspire, motivate and train students to renew their dreams, retrain their thinking and reframe their environments.  We take student from the playground to the boardroom, from ABC 2 ACT through our educational curriculums for global impact:

» Mrs. C. Literacy and Good Manners

» Scholastic Marathon Training--Get set, Get ready, Let's Go (College-prep, career readiness and social skills)

» Pathway to Freedom Exhibit created by students for students-- An American History story of Black Americans

Our goal is to ignite the fire of literacy and social skills in the heart of every child across Texas and the globe.
