History
We started as an after-school program with 4 young people in 2006.  We leased a 1,727 sq. ft. portion of a commercial building and grew to 12 young people.  As our Clubbers aged we opened as an all-day program in a new location.  Now in 2025 we are in a larger facility and have over 84 individuals who proudly call themselves Clubbers.   As The Clubhouse continues to grow, it is our desire to create a fun, safe learning environment where every moment is a teaching moment.  We want each individual to have the opportunity to make friends, explore their community and feel valued.  Our programs impact our special needs young people by encouraging them to exceed the expectations of those around them.  We strive to see their self confidence grow,  academically and socially.  Everyone wants to make friends and feel valued.  Individuals with special needs are no different. The Clubhouse changes lives.  After less than a month being in our programs, parents will often share how we impact their young person, how their are becoming more independent.

A few testimonials:

---------------
I can't thank you enough for allowing my sister to enter the summer program at The Clubhouse for Special Needs. As you know with my mother passing away in March this has been a huge transition period for her. Not only loosing my Mom, but leaving her home and friends to live with me along with all the new rules and expectations.
I have seen a spark of independence as she has gained confidence in her new environments. This is in part due to the structure at Clubhouse making sure they are doing all the things that they are capable of doing, teaching them respect for others and holding them accountable for their actions.  As we discussed in our very first meeting, She is capable of so much more than she has been allowed to do in the past.  It make me so happy to see her growing!

----------

We have been hoping our daughter could join the Clubhouse, but she had to turn 13 first. We waited six years and now she is old enough!  She loves it!  She won the game of Uno yesterday. Today she is looking forward to field day!  Thank you Clubhouse for making this summer so special!

----------

Thank you so much for your patience. The Clubhouse is first place my son has been allowed to remain long enough to adjust.  He is more calm and is engaging in activities with his peers more often.  He has even gone on field trip with your group.  Which make me so very happy.  So many other places would give up on him including school.  They removed him from the transition program early because they felt it would not benefit him.  But he just needed a little understanding and concern.  Clubhouse your caring staff are such a blessing.  I can go to work knowing my son is safe, learning to be social and is making friends.

---------

The Clubhouse staff are so warm and welcoming to the young people that attend . You can tell they are all passionate about helping those with special needs. There are amazing activities for them to do all day, there seems to be great friendships there and the young people are simply amazing. The staff helps them socialize, learn life skills like cooking and cleaning, and keeps them very entertained and busy. They also collaborate with local businesses to bring some FUN to the Clubhouse, like ice cream parties which we have participated in and sponsored before. The looks on the kids faces are priceless! This is a fantastic organization for an under served part of the community!

---------

I have been bringing my son to the Clubhouse for drop-in care since December 2019.  Whenever we arrive, my son is excited to be there and the staff are always enthusiastic in their welcoming of him as well.  The founder of this facility knew from personal experience the difficulties of working your job when you have a special needs child over 12 and they really try to be available and open even when the schools aren't. The staff and volunteers here really have a calling for what they do and I have no worries when I leave my kiddo in their care.

-----------

I take my brother there.  He has autism.  The Clubhouse loves him like family.  They respect him and teach him to interact with the other members. All the Clubhouse members and volunteers know my brother and me also. Lol.

We have been aware of this organization for more since  before 2015  and have been exceedingly impressed by the services, care, attention, and most importantly, love that they provide to those with special needs.  If you know someone in the age range of 13-22 with special needs, I highly recommend this organization. We have a nephew with special needs and know all too well how crucial it is to give them a place of their own where they can thrive, while also supporting their inclusion into a mainstream environment (school, church, etc.).
Thank you Clubhouse for your tireless acts of love!

Mission

MISSION: The Clubhouse for Special Needs provides a safe and fun place for teens and young adults with intellectual or physical challenges. It offers opportunities for education, socialization, and independence in a recreational atmosphere. Through our programming, we encourage students to be involved in their community. We strive to maintain their academic acuity while developing socialization skills through friendships. We provide the support they need to be confident and self-sufficient.

Needs

THE PROBLEM

We are expanding to provide for our growing population. We need more ways to transport them. The Clubhouse likes to go on 2 to 3 field trips week. We go swimming in the summer, to the library, the park, to local restaurants, the museums, the zoo, bowling, etc. Unfortunately some Clubbers must be left behind if we don't have enough space. Sometimes if we don't have enough staff and volunteers to split them up we have to cancel the trip.

Secondly, since we have grown, The Clubhouse has added additional space and we need more cameras in the rooms, additional computer equipment and software to accommodate the new Clubbers.

THE SOLUTION

In our observation, our Clubber friends gravitate to and quickly pick up technology. We believe these resources will enhance a Clubbers time at the Clubhouse and allow our instructors and volunteers better ways to integrate and teach them. To help our Clubbers retain and learn new vital social and academic skills. These technology tools are important to improving their self-esteem and quality of life.

The Clubhouse is seeking funding to purchase the following items for our current location:

A 15 passenger van with a Clubhouse logo wrap: $75,000

Our Clubbers love to travel. We believe keeping them engaged in the community is a great way to improve their wellbeing and confidence.

Scholarships for 4 young people for one year: $24,000

Several of of our families are single moms and single dads who struggle financially. These families are on 10-15 year waiting list to receive crucial funds to provide the many specialized services or therapies to care for their child's needs. You support will free up funds so the Clubber could attend the Clubhouse and the parent could cover other vital expenses.

State-of-the-art electronics to improve learning and fun while also increasing the safety of our exceptional Clubbers.

• iXL academic training software $1,400

• 14 New PC's with Windows licenses $9,000

• 5 additional cameras in classrooms and

monitoring equipment $2,000

FINANCIAL GOAL $112,000

NOTE: All funds raised will be used according to the needs of the organization particularly but not limited to: scholarships and expansion.
