Rowlett Strong formed immediately after the "Christmas Tornado" of December 26, 2015 to raise funds for tornado relief. We raised over $55,000--more than any other single organization. These funds were instrumental in helping Rowlett citizens get back into their homes as quickly as possible. The primary relief period for this disastrous event lasted under two years, much shorter than was expected.
We have shifted our focus to providing cash assistance to first responders that work for the over 70 departments across North Texas that responded to this disaster. We want to show our first responders that we will be there for them, just as they were (and are) there for us.
Administrative needs are critical as we have operated 100% volunteer so far and can't proceed to the next level on that basis. We also need funding to purchase materials, printing and supplies to carry out our various annual fundraisers and the new ones that we are planning.
To build our Foundation for the First Responders that came to the aid of our town after the 12-26-15 Christmas Tornado.
To improve the lives of Rowlett youth by providing fun, desirable after-school activities to help keep them busy and out of trouble.
