Our Needs

Helping Hands depends on the funding from our natural base of support - local residents and businesses.
Help us continue to be the community's safety net and lend a hand up for our neighbors experiencing a crisis. Please consider making a financial gift. Your one-time or monthly gift of $25, $50, $100, $500, $1,000 or $5,000 can make all the difference to our Food Pantry, to our Emergency Assistance program, to our Health Center - and to struggling families. Your support allows us to provide life-giving services each year to Rockwall County women, children and men that are experiencing a short-term crisis or disaster. Thank you for helping provide shelter from the storms, food during lean times and a medical home to help keep our community healthy.

"I was at my breaking point. I had exhausted all of my resources. Had cars repossessed, eviction notices, past due notices, food prices, and not to mention gas prices were all hitting at once. I searched for options before me and my family were out on the street. My husband and I had worked hard to work towards being able to provide for our family, but it seemed any money earned was just not enough and the bills kept piling up. I discovered helping hands after searching online for help for bill and was able to find the Helping Hand place. I reached out to their office and explained our situation and was able to have complete an application for assistance. Once I submitted the application, they assured me I would receive the status the next day. The next morning, I received a notification I would receive help and I got help towards my rent. I was able to catch up on some of my bills which was a huge relief. Helping Hand provided help when options were next to none."                                                                                  - Lindsey, Assistance and Referral Client

Rockwall County Helping Hands strives to ensure that no one in Rockwall County goes to bed hungry, without a roof overhead, or is deprived of needed medical care. We serve Rockwall County residents by alleviating an unexpected crisis and providing a medical home.

In these challenging economic times, Helping Hands must be prepared daily to come alongside residents who find themselves in desperate situations. We need funding to keep the agency positioned to mobilize immediately when crisis or disaster hits, helping to provide the vital essentials including food, emergency assistance, shelter and healthcare.
