The Problem
Even one person sleeping on the streets is one too many. The people we serve are not strangers or statistics—they are our neighbors. Some are young people forced to leave home, older adults navigating illness alone, parents evicted after losing jobs, survivors of trafficking, or individuals struggling with addiction or mental health challenges. Their stories are as complex and sacred as any of ours.

Homelessness is more than lacking a roof—it happens when people face a crisis in isolation. Without support systems, poverty, trauma, and illness push people to the streets, where survival becomes the daily focus and barriers to recovery deepen. While shelters and housing programs help many, thousands still fall through the cracks each year. In Dallas, only about 2,500 shelter beds are available, far fewer than the number of people in need.

The Solution
The solution to homelessness begins with seeing each person as a neighbor, made in God’s image and worthy of love. A meal, a shower, or a bed to sleep in may start the conversation and meet an immediate need, but true transformation takes time, trust, and the presence of a Christ-centered community. Healing from trauma, rebuilding relationships, and rediscovering purpose requires personalized strategies, an innovative approach, and relentless compassion. While a home is critical to resolving homelessness, real change comes through restoration, not relocation.

Our Approach
At OurCalling, we walk with our neighbors through every layer of that restoration— physically, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. Our Navigation Center is a central hub where vital services like meals, hygiene, and medical care are accessible, coordinated, and designed to restore dignity and hope. Empowered by our mobile app, our Street Outreach teams go beyond our building to meet people where they are, visiting encampments, and helping people get directly off the streets and into healthy community.

Our Care Ministers help each person walk with Jesus, navigate the unique barriers they face to exiting homelessness, and create personalized pathways out of homelessness. Rooted in faith and powered by innovation, we go beyond physical needs to create real solutions that end homelessness one life at a time.

Mission

OurCalling helps our unsheltered homeless neighbors walk with Jesus and get off the streets. We do this by caring with dignity, connecting intentionally, and creating healthy community.

Every neighbor we meet is more than a statistic. They are created in the image of God with infinite worth. Through the Gospel, we have seen lives restored and hope awakened.

We were honored to receive recognition from D CEO Magazine and the Communities Foundation of Texas. This award is a testament to what God can do through a willing team, faithful partners, and a community that believes no one is beyond hope.

With God’s help and your support, we believe homelessness is not the end of anyone’s story.
