- Rescuing Animals: A Second Chance Program
The animals in our care have been rescued and adopted from shelters, private homes, and sanctuaries in Texas. Though they started with disabilities and/or injuries - and although they're at various stages of rehabilitation - animals under NTAC's care live in a loving and caring environment, and their recoveries give testimony to what compassion and confidence can do. Check out the "Our Rescues" tab to learn about just a few of our rescues!
- Animal Education
At our Forney campus, known locally as "The Gentle Zoo", we offer educational programs and activities that allow children and adults to learn about animal behavior, husbandry and what it means to rescue and care for another living being.
- Animal Outreach Therapy
Animals can be an amazing therapy supplement, and our critters are perfect for the job. Just by being themselves, our resident ambassadors will cuddle and play until your worries are all melted away! While we do not have any therapists on staff, we work with other non-profits and allow them to bring groups in.

Our Future Plans:

+ Enclosure expansion:
- Extend goat pens + pasture (In progress!)
- Upgrade Bird cages
- Enrichment:
- Grass in goat pasture
- Exotic habitat (mimic natural lands)
+ Community Outreach:
- Update autism sensory tour
- Develop new animal-based therapy opportunities
- Increasing partnerships with other nonprofits and hosting donation drives.
+ Conservation:
- Monarch waystation (In progress!)
- Wildlife retention pond

Mission

Rescue, Care, Educate, Connect.

Our mission is to bring animals and human communities together for education, support, and service.

North Texas Animal Connections (NTAC) provides a variety of animal-related services including physical and emotional therapy, veterinary and rescue assistance, educational programs, and a "Gentle Zoo" on our Forney Campus where children and adults can interact with our animals and take part in special activities and programs designed to educate and to inspire.

At our campus in Forney, we shelter, feed, and provide medical care for 85 animals - at the moment. Our animals participate in animal-assisted therapy programs for persons with special needs, veterans and other suffering from post-traumatic stress, and elderly people struggling with the physical, situational, and emotional effects of advancing age.

Needs

Our wonderful team of volunteers is a major aspect of what keeps us going! If you would like to join our volunteer team, see here for details: https://ntacforney.org/volunteering/
