Momentum Dance Company is a community of dancers who are passionate about telling stories and sharing beauty through the art of dance. The company is comprised of dancers of all ages and dance styles/trainings. Our common ground is our love for the performing arts, our desire for personal and community excellence, and our commitment to inspiring the next generation of dancers. We are primarily a ballet company but we enjoy branching out into other dance styles like modern, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and tap.
Our dancers have an incredible support system led by their families and the Momentum Dance Company Board of Directors. The Board of Directors oversees the administrative and financial affairs of the company, while our brilliant Artistic Team plans and directs performances.

Mission
Momentum Dance Company's mission is to provide local dancers with professional training and performance opportunities, while simultaneously serving the community through arts education and outreach initiatives. To realize our mission, Momentum Dance Company (MDC) produces programs in varied styles of dance--primarily classical ballet--to promote participation in, accessibility to, and enduring appreciation for the Fine Arts in Irving and the greater DFW Metroplex.
Needs
As Momentum Dance Company prepares to celebrate its 22nd season, we look forward with excitement and determination. In the coming months, we will hold auditions for our beloved annual production of The Nutcracker, with hopes of welcoming more than 50 dancers to the stage. This follows an extraordinary season highlighted by our production of Snow White, which featured over 55 dancers and delighted audiences with two sold-out performances.
While our artistic impact continues to grow, our financial challenges have become increasingly urgent. Rising theater rental fees and escalating operational costs have placed significant strain on our organization. Despite these pressures, we have remained committed to keeping participation fees affordable for dancers and ticket prices accessible to families, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent our community from experiencing the joy and benefits of the performing arts.
Support from the North Texas Giving Day community would allow us to continue fulfilling our mission without passing these rising costs on to our dancers and patrons. Your generosity will help us expand outreach efforts to local school districts, provide scholarships to deserving young dancers, supply essential performance resources such as pointe shoes, and continue delivering high-quality productions that enrich the cultural life of our region.
