Dallas Companion Animal Project (DCAP) believes in showing compassion to both people and animals. Without our wonderful donors, we could not help companion animals like:
Brutus, a 6 year old English Mastiff mix, was brutally attacked by 5 other dogs and received multiple lacerations as well as an eye injury. He required surgery to repair his injuries. The Lucy Fund was able to step in with funds to help cover the cost of his treatment and recovery.
Alexis, a 1 year old kitty, was limping and bleeding from her nail bed. Her person was in need of financial help for veterinary care. She only had $5 to contribute. The Lucy Fund stepped in to helpand after treatment for an infected nail bed she was as good as new!
Jazz, a 13 year old schnauzer, had a tumor on his spleen and required surgery to remove it. Unfortunately, his person was living on social security and couldn't afford the full cost of his surgery. The Lucy Fund was able to provide enough funds to cover the balance needed so Jazz could have the surgery.
Kuma, a Shiba Inu, had severe skin allergies. Over the counter medicine and shampoo stopped working and as a result he developed skin infections on most of his body, even in his eyes and mouth. His owner who was just getting by financially reached out to The Lucy Fund for assistance. DCAP was able to provide assistance for the vet, medications and skin treatment.
The Lucy Fund was established to assist pet owners throughout DFW Metroplex who cannot afford needed emergency veterinary services. The fund was named for a very special little dog - Lucy - who recovered from a life-threatening injury because a caring community stepped in to help her owners with emergency medical expenses.
One hundred percent of all tax-deductible donations are used to pay for urgent medical care for pets of people who cannot afford to have their pets treated. Funds are provided direct to the veterinary practice. Those needing assistance can apply online at http://www.dallasanimals.org/the-lucy-fund
