A Vision for Lasting Impact in Southern Dallas!
Cynthia Mickens Ministries (CMM) has been changing lives since 2002, and we’ve seen firsthand how empowering individuals – especially women, children and seniors – can lead to the transformation of entire communities.
Since 2008, we’ve made the city of Hutchins our home-base, where nearly one in three families live below the poverty line. But our impact extends well beyond Hutchins.
Our 4-acre campus currently has four buildings that are used to house single mothers, support a thriving summer camp, host mentoring, STEM education, Arts, and Continuing Ed programs, and we feed over 3,000 individuals annually through our food pantry and community garden. Our programs are holistic and focused on long-term self-sufficiency: housing, health, education, spiritual growth, workforce development, and financial literacy.
To take our mission to the next level, CMM partnered with Engineering Ministries International (EMI), a global nonprofit design and architecture firm, to reimagine our Hutchins campus as a model for community transformation. Together, we’ve developed The PATH at Hutchins, a visionary site plan that dramatically expands our capacity to serve Southern Dallas communities.

Without coordinated support, families often remain trapped in cycles of poverty that impact health, academic achievement, employment, and long-term financial stability. Rather than addressing these challenges in isolation, The PATH at Hutchins will address them holistically by building stability, opportunity and community all in one integrated campus.
And with the support from the City of Hutchins, a committed Board of Directors, and major community and corporate partners, we are already in motion.
Our Needs:
To expand our capacity to serve, Cynthia Mickens Ministries, Inc. is advancing The PATH at Hutchins—a master plan featuring housing for single mothers and seniors, and a multipurpose building that will provide wrap-around services and retail/incubator space for startups and small businesses. We are seeking $150,000 to underwrite master-plan and pre-development costs and to sustain and enhance our existing programs. Your investment will grow our residential housing program and increase the number of women, seniors and families that we can serve across Southern Dallas.
Cynthia Mickens Ministries (CMM), Inc.—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Hutchins, Texas—exists to transform lives to transform communities. We support residents in communities facing substantial socioeconomic obstacles across southern Dallas County, including Dallas, Lancaster, Seagoville, Ferris, and Wilmer.
Our services span a continuum of care:
Residential Housing Assistance for single mothers with children.
Food Security Initiatives, including regular community food giveaways.
Youth Enrichment, featuring a free Summer STEAM & Feeding Camp for children ages 6–14.
Community Garden & Education, where families learn and practice nutrition and gardening skills.
Together, these programs strengthen families, stabilize households, and build healthier, more resilient communities.
