Since 2013 Baby Booties Diaper Bank has distributed over 2.6 MILLION diapers to babies and families in need throughout Collin County. In addition to diapers, they distribute baby wipes and thousands of period products monthly to mothers and people in need. On average BBDB volunteers will serve 300 vehicles at a drive-thru event passing out over 20k diapers on a given Saturday to diaper 500 babies. The cost to replenish diapers, wipes, and period pads each MONTH is over $3,500, so donations are critical to keeping supplies stocked for families. Families are currently paying close to .40/diaper and there is no government assistance. It's a basic need expense many in our community are struggling to keep up with.

Our Needs

We are most in need of funds to keep up with the growing demand. The lasting financial stress and impact this will have on families, for years to come, are still unknown but will be substantial. Baby Booties has a wonderful partnership with a medical supply company allowing us to purchase diapers at a much lower cost than retail. Therefore, we are about to stretch every donation dollar that much farther!

Mission

Baby Booties Diaper Bank provides diapers, wipes and feminine hygiene products to under-resourced families in Collin County, in addition to providing feminine products throughout the school year to 22 local middle and high schools. It is our goal to bridge the diaper gap so that all babies in North Texas are dry, healthy, & happy while also fighting to end Period Poverty in North Texas!

Needs

Our most pressing needs are larger size children's diapers. Sizes 4, 5, and 6 are most requested. We also accept baby wipes, period products, both pads and tampons, and infant formula.

Equity Statement

Baby Booties Diaper Bank is committed to building a more just and equitable North Texas. We recognize the history of oppression that has resulted in ongoing disparities for some communities, as well as the limitations of a nonprofit framework to address them. Yet, we have a powerful network of organizations and change agents with an opportunity before us to create positive systemic change. We believe that nonprofits that prioritize engaging diverse perspectives and evolve to be inclusive, behave equitably, and have profound impacts on society.

For the above reasons, Baby Booties is committed to transforming each aspect of our organization by confronting our own biases and operationalizing our values. We know that intention alone will not change things. To this work, we bring the successes and mistakes of our own continuing efforts in the direction of equity on behalf of our clients, volunteers, and all nonprofits. The mission and vision we hold for enriching the lives of all North Texans, move us to directly challenge ourselves and deconstruct frameworks of oppression while building opportunities for learning, change, and accountability.

We know:

This work is urgent, and we will always be learning.

We will make mistakes and own our responsibility for corrective action.

Our efforts will be tireless, and we will not stop.

Baby Booties is committed to our own equity journey, the diversity of our volunteers and clients, and the broader nonprofit community as change agents that contribute to an inclusive and equitable North Texas that champions our rich diversity.
