We are a youth-founded and minority woman-founded 501c3 grassroots community service organization that serves our unsheltered communities as well as our marginalized and vulnerable populations and fills in the gaps for those in need. We currently have 5 core programs:
1. Neighbor Outreach: to provide mindful and direct assistance to those experiencing homelessness; We are currently serving about 100 each week from Dallas to Collin County and all over DFW providing nutritionally complete hot meals, shelf-stable meals, hygiene products, clothing, and other basic needs. We are a mobile micro nonprofit and we catch those who may fall through the gaps or cannot readily access a pantry or shelter.
2. Rainy Day Program: to fill in the gaps for small but urgent needs such as an overdue utility bill, groceries, an emergency car repair, etc. This program serves 1-3 individuals and families each and every month providing vital resources to prevent the downward spiral into homelessness or debt.
3. Holiday Outreach: to bring light into the holiday season for children, seniors, and our unsheltered communities; This will be our 11th year of this initiative.
4. UMU Youth Academy: to bring equitable access to sports, arts, and music to underserved area youth.
5. She Leads Workshops: this is our newest initiative to provide a platform for women to share knowledge and empower women through supported workshops that are free for the community. She Leads empowers women and supports women-owned small businesses through free community education workshops ranging from self-defense to CPR to cookie decorating and yoga.
