Theatre Denton provides opportunities for 100's of actors, directors, technicians, and designers to develop thier talents each year. This organization is welcoming to all community members for participation which affords people at all experience levels to have an outlet for artistic expression. Theatre Denton provides quality, affordable, live entertainment for 20,000+ patrons in the greater Denton area each year. In addition, Theatre Denton has a thriving youth program that teaches basic theatre skills to children ages 5-18. Annually, approximately 100+ students participate in classes, youth productions, and camps. Theatre Denton staff consists of 4 full-time, and 3 part-time empoyees. In addition to these responsiblities, Theatre Denton is contractually the managment company in residence at the Texas state historical landmark Campus Theatre. This entails all up-keep, repair of the physical building and all equipment therein. Each year, Theatre Denton draws over 30,000 patrons and volunteers to Denton's downtown area. This results in increased revenue for restaurants, bars and shops in the area.

Our Needs

Theatre Denton is in need of operational funds. These expenses include payroll, insurance, utilities, maintenance, and repair. Current repair needs for the Campus Theatre include roof, carpet, lighting equipment, and paint.  Theatre Denton is also seeking funds to help with the rising costs of producing live theatre.  This includes royalties, sets, costumes and orchestra honorariums.

Mission

Theatre Denton's mission is to contribute to the cultural life of the community through theatrical experiences . Theatre Denton, Inc. shall promote education and interest in theatre and the performing arts; and to manage and operate the Campus Theatre. This mission includes, but is not limited to the following:

a. Promoting education in the theatre and performing arts by producing high quality plays and musicals;

b. Encouraging and educating both children, youth and adults in all aspects of theatre arts and related fields;

c. Providing North Texas region residents with opportunities to gain a greater appreciation of the performing arts;

d. Providing North Texas area residents with opportunities to participate with the performing arts.

e. Contributing to the quality of life in the North Texas region.
