19 Years of Healing. Education. Advocacy. Community.
For 19 years, Trauma Support Services has been rooted in the belief that everyone impacted by trauma deserves access to compassionate care, meaningful support, and the opportunity to heal—regardless of their ability to pay. Our roots began in 2007, but our work continues to grow. As TSS enters its 19th year of service, we are looking toward a future where more survivors can access care, more professionals understand trauma, and more communities have the tools to respond when trauma occurs. Your support helps us strengthen existing services while expanding opportunities for trauma-focused education, community partnerships, professional training, and accessible mental health support.
This North Texas Giving Day, we invite you to help those roots grow deeper. When you give to Trauma Support Services, you help connect trauma survivors with dedicated mental health professionals, provide access to services at no cost, and equip professionals and communities with the knowledge to recognize and respond to trauma. Your gift doesn't simply support a program. It helps create communities where healing can take root.
Give today and help us continue to Educate. Advocate. Heal.
YOUR GIFT HELPS HEALING TAKE ROOT
Trauma can change a person's sense of safety, relationships, physical and emotional well-being, and ability to navigate everyday life. Access to compassionate, trauma-informed support can make a meaningful difference in what happens next.
Your North Texas Giving Day gift helps TSS continue providing:
HEALING through accessible mental health services. Your support helps trauma survivors access professional trauma-informed therapy and other supportive services without the financial barriers that can prevent someone from seeking care.
ADVOCACY through connection, resources & support. Healing often requires more than therapy. TSS helps individuals navigate resources, identify options, connect with community supports, and regain a sense of voice and choice following trauma.
EDUCATION through creating trauma-informed communities. Through training and education, we help professionals and organizations understand the effects of trauma, recognize trauma responses, reduce the risk of re-traumatization, and create environments that support healing.
When one professional becomes more trauma-informed, that knowledge can influence every person they serve. Your investment in TSS creates impact far beyond a single moment of giving.
WHY TRAUMA-INFORMED COMMUNITIES MATTER
Trauma can affect anyone, and its impact rarely exists in isolation. It can influence families, workplaces, schools, healthcare settings, justice systems, and entire communities. Building trauma-informed communities means creating environments where people understand not only what happened, but also how those experiences may shape what someone needs next.
Trauma-informed education helps:
- Increase understanding and sensitivity by teaching professionals and community members how trauma can affect behavior, relationships, decision-making, and well-being.
- Reduce re-traumatization by encouraging practices grounded in safety, trust, collaboration, empowerment, and choice.
- Strengthen community resilience by equipping individuals and organizations with practical tools to respond to trauma and support recovery.
- Improve connections to resources by helping professionals recognize needs and connect survivors with appropriate mental health, healthcare, advocacy, and community support.
- Promote empowerment and collaboration by shifting from simply doing things for people toward working with individuals and communities as active participants in their own healing.
When communities understand trauma, they are better prepared to respond with compassion instead of judgment—and connection instead of isolation.
