$20,000 Goal

Trinity Park Conservancy is dedicated to stewarding Dallas' largest public green space: the 10,000 acres of the Trinity River Corridor.  Believing that the River is the natural gathering place for all Dallas residents, the Conservancy is committed to bringing people together to share their ideas, learn more about the possibilities and habitat of the area, and to assist in making it a more accessible space.

The Conservancy was selected in 2018 by the City of Dallas to design, construct and maintain the future Harold Simmons Park in a private/public partnership. Join us to be part of the community conversation throughout the Park design + development process!

Mission

The Trinity Park Conservancy champions the transformation of the Trinity River to become the heart of Dallas. With the community, we design public spaces that unite us, that enrich people's lives through access to nature, that create economic development opportunities, and that inspire protection for the river ecosystems in this shared natural treasure.

Needs

For too long the Trinity River has been a dividing line through Dallas, framed by levees and infrastructure that keep us from enjoying the nature in the heart of our city. You can help us change this through habitat restoration, environmental education, and accessible place-making!

This year, we are expanding the Trinity River Crew (a youth conservation workforce program we conduct in partnership with Greenspace) into an afterschool program for kids in West Dallas. With your help, 25 fifth-graders will get to do hands-on science every week, and learn about the ecosystems in their own backyard!

Every dollar you give will make our city healthier and more vibrant through improved ecology, greater personal connection to public spaces, and a stronger pipeline for the green jobs of tomorrow. Thank you for helping connect more people to nature and to one another!

Equity Statement

Equity is inextricably a part of our mission and necessary for Harold Simmons Park - a Park that builds connection for our city, when the river has historically been a divide. Our vision is one in which Harold Simmons Park creates opportunity for all to thrive in Dallas.

To us, equity means that all people - of all races, ethnicities, ages, genders, sexual orientations, religions, health and ability statuses, or any other considerations - have the right to access, dignity, and value; have the right to inclusively participate in all dimensions of civic and economic life; and can achieve their full potential.
