St. Mary of Carmel has been serving the West Dallas community for 82 years. More than 65% of adults in West Dallas have less than a 12th-grade education. We strive to break this cycle of education and economic poverty in our community. The children of our community need the strong educational foundation St. Mary of Carmel can provide, placing them on the path to success. We have two primary goals for all of our students: College and Heaven. This means that as we prepare our students for a rigorous academic career, we also teach them to live lives of virtue.
At St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School, we are committed to providing a quality Catholic education that nurtures the minds and spirits of our students. We believe that every child, regardless of their economic status, deserves access to a nurturing academic environment. Currently, we serve 160 incredible students, and approximately 87% of them qualify for the National Free and Reduced Lunch program. Furthermore, 87% of our students receive financial assistance to help ensure they can benefit from our educational offerings.
While we are proud of our mission and the community we serve, the reality is that our low tuition costs combined with the high number of students needing financial aid place significant budgetary constraints on our operations. These constraints make it challenging for us to maintain and enhance the quality of education we provide.
