For more than 80 years, St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School has been a beacon of hope in the heart of West Dallas, providing generations of children with a strong educational foundation rooted in faith, love, and opportunity.
Today, 168 scholars from PreK through 8th grade call SMC home. 87% of our students receive financial assistance, helping make a Catholic education possible for families who make real sacrifices for their children. In a community where more than 65% of adults have less than a 12th-grade education, we believe education can open doors and help change the story for the next generation.
At SMC, we put that hope into two simple words: College and Heaven. We want every scholar prepared for what comes next — grounded in their faith, confident in their abilities, and ready to build a future full of possibility.

Recently, one of our scholars, Melanie, was asked what she liked to do while waiting in our after-school program.
