Project Nova was founded to provide lighting in villages to enable evening education and increase overnight safety in communities across the Democratic Republic of Congo. We’re on a mission to raise awareness of the current crisis in the Congo through solar lighting to bring change and a brighter future for the Congolese.
In 2020-21, Project-Nova was able to distribute solar lights to thousands of people in various villages outside of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (“DRC”). Project-Nova continues to expand this mission to deliver solar lighting to villages that lack infrastructure for electricity, continued learning and homework in evening hours, increased security, and a more comfortable home for impoverished families.
Our mission is to raise awareness of the current crisis in the Congo through solar lighting, so we can bring change and create a brighter future for the Congolese. Project Nova provides solar lighting to villages that lack basic electricity infrastructure. Through your donations, we can positively impact communities throughout the DRC by expanding hours for education, work, and family development, in addition to reducing crimes that typically occur under the cover of night.
This year, Project Nova is collecting donations to provide the residents of the Democratic Republic of Congo with personal hygiene products. Items include tampons, sanitary pads, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and deodorant. In addition to those items, we are still collecting donations for solar lightbulbs. Our goal is to provide a safer environment and improve living conditions across Kinshasa.
Project Nova commits to examining in all ways and at every opportunity how our foundation’s work can repair, heal, and restore communities to be places where diversity thrives, where inclusion and belonging is the norm, and where equity in all its forms is the outcome.
