Since 1993, the Foundation has generated private support for priority projects for which tax dollars are not available. Almost $22 million has been gifted to Plano ISD for programs and services of importance to the school district.

Through supporting programs ranging from Social Emotional Learning to Robotics, Health Sciences, Fine Arts, and more, the Foundation plays a vital role in fostering student growth within the district through bridging the gap between opportunity and access.

The Board of Directors consists of business and community leaders who recognize the importance of excellent public schools to the Plano community. Support generated by the Plano ISD Education Foundation ensures Plano ISD remains one of the best public school districts in the nation.

Giving Activity

Mission

The Plano ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to help all students in the Plano Independent School District achieve their full potential by providing financial support to educators and academic programs.

The Foundation's commitment to support quality education for Plano ISD students remains strong. We continue to identify and fund needed programs and work to increase community and corporate involvement in support of our schools.

Needs

Currently, the Foundation’s most urgent needs for funding include programs such as the Plano ISD Welcome and Enrollment Center, robotics, Grants to Educators, The CORE Store and 5th grade camp scholarships. Gifts given during North Texas Giving Day will help the Plano ISD Education Foundation to fund these needs and more.

- A $25 donation would provide one student with a backpack filled with needed school supplies.

- A $50 donation provides wraparound support to a student who may need access to food, clothing, school supplies or immunizations.

- A $100 allows another student participate in a Broadway Masterclass with a professional from a touring Broadway production.

- A $250 donation will allow a student the opportunity to attend 5th Grade Outdoor Science Camp.

- A $500 donation will provide professional development opportunities for a new Plano ISD teacher.

- A $1,000 donation will provide teachers with the resources for innovative classroom projects.
