M2535

A nonprofit organization

M2535's mission is to be the hands of service that provide necessary contributions of resources to our growing homeless population by meeting physical needs, encouraging spiritual development and whenever possible, guiding them into renewed self-sufficiency and independence.

But a #nonprofit will not last long without securing a property. The functionality and sustainability of any viable charity organization rest in owning a centralized location.

M2535 needs a building to operate out of and you can help us get it. Why is a building needed you ask? There are innumerable reasons, but there are four main reasons:

1. Mitigating Displacement -  As areas come under the eye of market-rate developers, it’s not just individuals and families who feel the consequences. Organizations are priced out of rental spaces too. Ultimately, nonprofit ownership of land, holding it for a social #purpose, may be the only bulwark that keeps organizations in the #communities they serve. Ownership helps hold the nonprofit in place.

2. Increased Visibility - When nonprofits own their buildings, it increases the opportunity to #brand their space in alignment with their #mission. This branding and visibility can attract new clients, members, or patrons, as well as new financial support. The permanent home creates a sense of place for the organization and is an anchor for its constituency.

3. Financial Positioning and Wisdom - When looking through a financial lens, there are several reasons why a nonprofit might want to own its own #property. Most leases have at least 3 percent year-over-year increases, which add up over time. Owning gets an #organization out of this environment and once the mortgage is paid off, the organization is only responsible for operating costs.

4. A Firm Place to Stand On - Beyond these clear-cut #advantages of ownership, having a permanent home seems to let organizations push on their missions more powerfully. Not having to tiptoe around a landlord on how it can use a rented space, being seen as an anchor in the community, and other aspects of owning can accelerate an organization’s work. The #power of ownership can let organizations think differently about their work and realign their priorities as they become more rooted in the places they are located and committed to the people they empower.

You can help with this project. You can be the resource, the leverage, the brilliance that mobilizes it, catapulting the vision in the standing walls and open doors. Help make the M2535 organizational vision a real-life, right now Matthew 325 verse 35 in action.

Let's build it
