Texas has an incarceration rate of 840 per 100,000 people (including prisons, jails, immigration detention, and juvenile justice facilities), Texas locks up at a higher percentage of its people than any democracy on earth. Factors contributing to recidivism include a person’s social environment and community, their circumstances before incarceration, events during their incarceration, and, one of the main reasons, is housing statically people that don't have housing have a 25% greater chance of re-offending and going back to jail or prison, which increases crime and the cost for tax payers. 51% of the total budget in Tarrant County goes to support the jail, (JCK) is committed to reducing recidivism and keeping taxes lowered by providing rapid re-housing, job/career readiness, and the necessary support and charity that builds community in a healthy and holistic approach. 

Many of these individuals have trouble reconnecting with family or the reality of the lost of loved ones while incarcerated or finding a job to support themselves. Incarceration rates in the U.S. began increasing dramatically in the 1990s. The U.S. has the highest prison population of any country, comprising 25% of the world’s prisoners. Prisons are overcrowded, and inmates are forced to live in inhumane conditions, even those who are innocent and awaiting trial. (JCK) wants to effectively change the narrative of those formerly incarcerated.
