Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a life threatening, chronic condition that can strike both children and adults unexpectedly. At present, there is no cure. JDRF is working hard for a cure for T1D, and until that cure is here, we are improving lives of everyone impacted by the terrible disease, and supporting the community with resources and connections to each other. Why we fight type 1 diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults suddenly. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. There is nothing you can do to prevent it. And, at present, there is no cure.

Our Needs

Life with type 1 diabetes can be overwhelming and now with COVID-19, life feels even more uncertain. From the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, the CDC identified two main risks groups: older people and those with chronic disease like heart disease, lung disease and diabetes. People with diabetes, are among the most vulnerable during this crisis. This pandemic highlights yet another reason finding a cure for type 1 diabetes is so critical. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to support the T1D community when the need is even greater. Please join us in supporting the children, adults and families in our community who live with type 1 diabetes by giving today.
