Jacob Way is a nonprofit organization that helps  families  weather the storm of Childhood Cancer. Our vision is for families to create memories while we support a healthy home atmosphere during cancer treatment.

Jacob Way, is a children’s charity built on love. We advocate for childhood cancer by providing financial and home support for families in need of a break. Childhood cancer awareness requires continuous research for up-to-date treatment plans — treatment for progressive osteosarcoma is especially close to our hearts.

Jacob's Story-Our Why

Just 77 days after his diagnosis, we lost our dear Jacob  — just 14 years old — to progressive osteosarcoma. He was a man with no fear, a true fighter, and a hero whose memory will live forever in our hearts and through the lives he touches through this foundation. Jacob is our shining star, gone from this world too soon.

His positive outlook never dwindled throughout treatment, and he never complained or crumbled, always sporting the same contagious smile. Even during his treatment, he lived every day as a celebration and would appease his parents’ concerns by reassuring them that “everything is going to be perfectly fine.”

On July 29, 2022, Jacob transitioned to heaven. About a week beforehand, he expressed joy to his mother because he knew God had healed and forgiven him for his sins. From that day forward, Jacob’s mother understood his purpose — helping other children fighting cancer get through the storm.

"As a parent who's child was diagnosed with cancer at only 13, I know first hand what parents go through when dealing with an unexpected diagnosis of childhood cancer. Childhood cancer treatment can be expensive, and parents  face financial challenges related to medical bills, travel expenses, and time away from work. Navigating insurance coverage and exploring available financial assistance options can add additional stress to an already difficult situation." (Jacob's Father)

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to provide free, professional support services to parents and guardians of children affected by cancer. The program is designed to ease the financial and emotional burden to help the family focus on healing.

Needs

We seek your assistance to fulfill the following essential needs:

1. Funding Goal: $50,000

We aim to raise $50,000 to provide critical care packages, mortgage assistance, rent, utilities, and food for families with children battling cancer. This program is designed to alleviate the financial and emotional burdens these families face, allowing them to concentrate on healing.

2. Adopt-a-Family for Christmas

We are looking to adopt three families this Christmas through our Angel Tree program. Your support will help ease the financial strain of holiday expenses while their child undergoes cancer treatment.

3. Office Space

We are seeking an office space to host workshops, support groups, and our monthly Sunday dinner program, which offers home-cooked meals to families in need. Additionally, we need a storage room and work area for our care package items, as well as space for volunteers to assemble these packages.

4. Staffing Needs

We are seeking funding to hire one full-time Executive Director and one part-time Program Support Specialist to help us continue our vital work.

Your support in addressing these needs is crucial in making a significant difference in the lives of families facing the challenges of childhood cancer.

Equity Statement

At Jacob Way Organization, we are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment where all employees, clients, and partners feel valued, respected, and empowered. We believe that diversity in backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives enriches our organization and drives innovation, creativity, and success.
